Welcome to the St. Pius Second Grade Web Page.  Second Grade is a great and exciting year in a child’s life.  It is a year of many new things.  The highlight of this year happens in April, with the reception of the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist.  This year First Eucharist will be celebrated on Saturday, April 24, 2010.

In our second grade classroom we have a SMART Board that helps the children in all their subjects by involving them in their learning experience.  We also have computers in the classroom with other games and activities to aid in their education.

All of the children attend Mass, go to Gym, Art, Music, Computer, Library, and new this year, Spanish on a weekly basis. We also have access to the Computer and Science labs when not in use by other classes.  Second graders also begin taking Accelerated Reader Tests once a week (a program to improve comprehension skills).
