    Homebound Communion Calls
    • First Friday of the month volunteers bring Holy Communion to those unable to come to Mass regularly. They also share in prayer and bring the parish bulletin and other printed materials. Calls begin at 10:00 AM and usually are completed by noon. Please call the Parish Office at 734-285-1100.

Saturday mornings and the third Friday of the month, people from our parish bring greetings, prayers, and the Holy Communion to residents at Southgate Manor nursing facility in Southgate. Requirements: a generous, caring heart and 2 ½ hours of time. Call Gayle Dee at 734-782-0185.

    Festival Committee
    • Everyone looks forward to this annual three-day event held around St. Pius X's Feast Day in August. Its goal is to develop a loving, Catholic, community spirit among our parishioners and neighbors Downriver. Many volunteers make this a constant success. People who enjoy working together and having fun are encouraged to call the Parish Office 734-285-1100.

    Art & Environment Committee
    • These volunteers have the pleasure and responsibility of decorating our church throughout the liturgical year. Meetings are before liturgical seasons, Holy Days and Feast Days. If you have any creative or artistic skills to share (i.e. flower arranging, light sewing, etc.) please join us. We would appreciate and welcome your talents. Call Donna Fernandez 734-283-8896.

    St. Pius for Life
    • Protecting the right to life of all human beings, born and unborn, is the focus of this group. It has been organized to educate people on legislative actions needed to restore respect for life and create a true culture of life. Call the Parish Office for more details at 734-285-1100.

    Lay Leaders of Prayer
    • These volunteers most often lead prayers at funeral homes the evening before a funeral takes place. In the absence of a priest and deacon, prayer leaders assist eachother at Communion Services and at Liturgies of the Word along with the distribution of Holy Communion. If you’re interested, please contact the Pastor at 734-285-1100.

    St. Pius/Red Cross Blood Drive
    • Two blood drives are held at the Social Hall each year, in April and October, usually on the first Monday of that month. Chairperson Christine Nickens coordinates the drives with the Red Cross Representative. Please call the Parish Office at 734-285-1100.

    Poor & Needy
    • St. Pius X Parish is fortunate to have our own Poor & Needy committee and through our hands-on charitable work, have been a vital part of the Downriver area, offering food assistance, emergency support and disaster relief services to help enhance the lives of the less fortunate in our Parish and community.  If you need assistance, information or would like to become a member of Poor & Needy, please call the parish office at 734-285-1100.
